Extracomm Inc. is proud to announce the availability of ExtraFax 7.0.4. This new maintenance release contains many innovative new features, essential enhancements and critical fixes as described below.

What's New in ExtraFax 7.0.4

New features and enhancements - This version contains the following useful new features and enhancements:

- Support use of SMPP for sending SMS.

- Support installations on Windows Server 2008.

- Support use of Brooktrout 6.1 drivers.

- Ability to send DTMF codes with Brooktrout TR1034 fax boards.

- QR Code Recognition: no longer need to specify coordinate values.

- Split received faxes based on recognized QR code(s).

- Use the QR code value as the filename for a received fax image.

- Automatically append and/or prepend signature or custom text to outbound SMS/MMS messages.

- Received SMS/MMS messages can now be routed based on user-defined keywords.

- New option to define the maximum number of messages per outbound SMS job.

- Display the number of pages on the cover page of each completed outgoing fax job.

- A new view to show all non-delivery reports returned back to the extrafax.nsf database.

* New fixes and updates - ExtraFax 7.0.4 contains several fixes and updates since ExtraFax 7.0.3:

- Fixed a problem related to creating and recognizing foreign domain names.

- Addressed some issues when using IVR features with Dialogic and Diva fax boards.

- Addressed an issue where an extra null character may have been added into the recognized barcode string.

- Resolved a problem when creating port-level detail trace logs if the Log folder did not exist.

- Increase the frequency of updating the transmission status when sending or receiving fax pages.

- Addressed issue where duplicate set of attachments may have been stored in the routed fax on some occasions.

- Addressed an issue where a blocked out fax number within a Access Numbers document was not enforced.

- Addressed compatibility issue with MultiTech ZDX modem when operating in Fax Class 2.

- Addressed compatibility issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard edition.

- Improved the speed of performing the "Archive Now" action.

- Enhanced User Preferences lookup by adding support of Notes organization units OU2, OU3 and OU4.

- Removed the necessity of enclosing the barcode string with asterisks when defining an Inbound Routing document.

- Preventing password-protected Microsoft Word document from blocking the ExtraFax attachment rendering process.

- Fixed a bug which happened if the value of "Fax Priority Promotion Interval" is greater than 0.

- Taking color table into consideration when rendering outbound faxes with TIFF attachment.

- Fax Options button: If a user has cleared the value of a particular option, the original value is still inherited into the fax job unexpectedly. This has been fixed.

- ExtraFax Client: Addressed some issues related to server and recipient lookup.

How to upgrade from a previous version of ExtraFax:

Important:
Please make sure you have a valid ExtraFax 7.0.4 license key before upgrading. License keys from any previous version are not compatible.
You can upgrade to this version if you have purchased our Maintenance Plus Plan or Standard Maintenance Plan for ExtraFax 7.0.

SMS/MMS port is under license (port/channel) control.
For ExtraFax Enterprise and Standard licenses, SMS/MMS port will be counted as one fax board channel.
For ExtraFax Lite and UltraLite licenses, SMS/MMS port will be counted as one fax modem port.

Upgrade Procedure:


1. Backup your existing extrafax.nsf and make note of any customizations. In advance of upgrading ExtraFax you should make sure that the design elements in your extrafax.nsf are not marked as "Prohibit design refresh or replace to modify"), otherwise the database design upgrade process may not complete properly.

2. For Brooktrout fax board users, backup the following files from Domino/Notes program directory(Brooktrout 4.9.1 or earlier version drivers), or from C:\Program Files\Brooktrout\Config directory (Brooktrout 5.2 or greater version drivers).

(Skip a particular file if it does not exist)

3. For users of Brooktrout TR1034/TruFax/SR140, if you are currently using Brooktrout 4.7.1 - 6.0.0 driver, please download and reinstall with the latest Brooktrout 6.1.0 driver.

4. Run the ExtraFax setup program to start installing the latest version of ExtraFax. New in ExtraFax 7.0.4 is the ability to perform in-place upgrades. There is no need to un-install the previous version of ExtraFax before installing ExtraFax 7.0.4.

5. Following the installation of ExtraFax, when you start ExtraFax it will automatically upgrade the design of extrafax.nsf (Highly Recommended) if you have chosen to do so as prompted in the setup program.

6. Following the completion of the automatic design upgrade, manually apply any previous database customizations (if any) to the post office database (extrafax.nsf) if necessary.

7. Please note that starting in ExtraFax 7.0.4. you will now be prompted to specify the ExtraFax license key during the ExtraFax Server installation process.

8. Restart the ExtraFax server and test to confirm that it is running normally.
